The Sisu Necklace is a golden dragon charm necklace that belonged to Namaari before she gave it to Raya as a sign of friendship until she betrays her to obtain the Dragon Gem for Fang. Years later, it is given back to the Namaari as a sign of faith and trust for doing the right thing.

Background[]

Physical Appearance[]

The small golden dragon charm is relevant to Sisu's appearance while the blue-colored gem placed in the center of it serves as a replica of the Dragon Gem. Sometime during the six years after the necklace was given to Raya, she lost the necklace's cord but manages to preserve the charm as best she could.

Appearances[]

Raya and the Last Dragon[]

Namaari wears the necklace when Fang and the other tribes were invited to Heart for a peace meeting in hopes to make Kumandra whole again. Raya notices that the necklace's golden dragon charm is of Sisu and asks Namaari if it is the said dragon before apologizing for how her being a dragon nerd got her to ask the Fang Princess this. Namaari smiles as she too is a Sisu fan and references her necklace as a "Sisu fan necklace" before the two girls take part in the feast. As the girls bond over their similarities and the thought of bringing a dragon back into the world, Namaari shares a Fang legend with the Princess of Heart. After telling her about the legend, she gives Raya her necklace as a gift from one dragon nerd to another. Raya was touched by the gift and decides to show Namaari the Dragon Gem, only to have Namaari betray her and set events that led to the gem's shatter and the return of the Druun.

Despite what happened between Raya and Namaari six years ago, the Heart Princess kept the necklace but somehow lost its cord. Raya uses the golden dragon charm to help her summon Sisu back into the world. When it was time to obtain the last piece of the Dragon Gem from Fang, Sisu manages to convince Raya to trust Namaari, as the Sisu's siblings had trusted her. Raya decides to use the charm as a gift to show Namaari the faith and trust they are willing to place in her. Raya gets Noi and her Ongis to deliver the charm to Namaari, who regrets the outcome of the action she and her people committed six years ago. The Fang Princess finds the charm by her window, along with a note from Raya asking her to give them her people's piece of the Dragon Gem so it can be reassembled to finally save the world from the Druun again.

As Namaari meets with Raya the next day, the Fang Princess tells her how she never thought that they'll ever see her old necklace's charm again, while Raya tells her that she did her best to preserve it. After Sisu was accidentally killed by the two distrusting princesses and the two fought one another in a fit of rage, the charm falls onto the ground after Raya knocks Namaari down. Namaari sees that the charm has fallen from her and grabs it before telling Raya that she is responsible for what happened to Sisu. The charm falls from Namaari later again as the Fang Princess helps Raya and her allies take on the Druun with their pieces of the Dragon Gem. Raya sees the charm on the ground and picks it up as it gets her to realize that trust is one of the main keys that can defeat the Druun. She remembers Sisu's words and story of the trust the last dragons placed in their sister. To prove this realization, Raya gives Namaari her piece of the Dragon Gem and gets the others to do so as a sign of trust and faith in Namaari, who reassembles the gem which banished the demons from their world before the fallen rain revives all of its past and present victims, humans and dragons alike.

Trivia[]

  • A similar golden dragon charm was seen dangling on the hilt of Raya's sword in one of the film's teaser trailers.[1]
