Kumandra is a fictional land in Raya and the Last Dragon, that's based on Southeast Asian cultures. It is comprised of five separate clans who form the Land of the Dragon together. Now that the dragons are gone, Kumandra was under attack by a "dark sinister force" that only a dragon can defeat. It wasn't till this "dark sinister force" was finally defeated that all the dragons returned.

History

Not much is known about the history of Kumandra past 500 years before the story starts. It formed at some point in the past, and it consisted of Heart, Fang, Talon, Spine, and Tail. The kingdom also possessed dragons, and according to Raya, it was "paradise." Around 500 years before the story began, The Druun attacked the kingdom. The dragons fought the best they could, but it wasn't enough. Most dragons and people were turned to stone. However, after Sisu concentrated her magic and blasted the druun away, it was gone. The kingdom soon quickly fell into a civil war after, known as The Kumandran Civil War, where multiple groups trying to gain possession of the Dragon Gem revolted against the Kumandran government. Eventually, these groups secured their own land, and broke away from Kumandra. After a while, what was left of Kumandra would become Heart, which would remain the only remanent of Kumandra. Most of what was formerly Kumandra was captured during The Invasion of the Druun, however, Sisu would once again, blast the druun away after 6 years inside of Fang. Dragons would eventually return in their entirety. Soon after the druun was blasted away and the dragons came back, Kumandra reunited once again.
